A Bookstagrammer Influence

Hey Folks,

Have you ever been overpowered by an instagram post? Gosh, I have been, that too multiple number of times and for a fact I am so intrigued by their way to influence through reels, posts and what not.

I am someone who’s definitely influenced by the bookstagrammers. How can one not fall prey for their book baits? Its so colorful and takes lots of effort to position and click aesthetic pictures of book covers; someone who loves reading (except my fellow kindle lovers) will understand the umpteen amount of drooling over those pretty hardcovers.’sigh’.

Now, am talking about this recent read of mine. Crescent City, House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas. The purchase of the same was due to these avid bookstagrammers.

Sarah J . Maas is a celebrated author (New York Times Bestselling Author) , her fantasy books are one among the sought after ones. As this is my first read of hers, I was hooked to the book and definitely agreed to the hype all over her and the book. Fantasy books are always a genre that requires creation of magical and mystical worlds, ethereal romances and neck to neck plot turns. And from my point of view, Sarah J. Mass has succeeded in giving the readers that.

The Plot : The protagonist of the story is the charming Bryce Quinlan, a kickass girl whose world comes crumbling down to pieces when her best friend Danika and her whole clan dies and that too not off natural causes(ik, its understood.. silly me). The story continues to move forward when not so magical Bryce decides to avenge her best friend’s death. To all people looking for chiseled boy element, yes peeps, its all in there. There is chaos, confusion, love, hatred, misconceptions and everything that decidedly will make the readers go oola -la.

As a person who relies on Goodreads for suggestions, the review section send me to utter despair as a couple of comments ( first few.. and there were more apparently down the list)was little disheartening to read through. All those reviewers, were comparing her previous works to this. As a first time reader, I didn’t have anything to compare and maybe her other books are too good that this doesn’t stand a chance against them.

Her detailing of characters and places are commendable as it helps the bookworms to imagine the scenes more vividly( yes, i always have a motion movie in my head while I read). Definitely, it was a best escape from reality for me.

As an Ode to the Bookstagrammers, I tried to give an artistic touch when I clicked the picture and will try to in the coming blogs as well(if am not lazy, a great point of concern). Another courtsey is to my sweet sis -in-law, who got me that book lamp. She knows how crazy I am about adding accessories to my small library setup.

That’s all for this time. Stay safe everyone.

“Through love , all is possible” .

Tata uh!

Regards,

A.
