How about some failed Magic?
Hey Folks,
It was a hectic week around for me. Now you will be thinking why….right? Yes, I just started of a small online store for art and office supply and it requires hell lot of work. So, basically I really didn’t have time to experience that me time… hence, no new write ups.
I had been to a book sale long back, basically they sold “used books”. I am that person who likes fresh books; untouched ones. It gives me that vigor to read and therefore I shed lots of money to just lay hand on that beautiful hardcover (no, please don't say whatsoever the content is same). So when I had been to that sale, I saw a stack of my favourite author's books and the author was Cecelia Ahern.
"PS I Love You" was probably first ever romantic read I have had in my life. Gerry and Holly were etched in my heart for a long time. After that I never really saw her books anywhere and online sites were also not so prevalent at that time. I bought those books from the sale and stacked it inside my bookshelf. And, I forgot about it entirely. Recently, as I was in a cleaning spree I came back to those books again. I picked "The Book of Tomorrow" and sat down to read.
The story is about Tamara Goodwin, a sixteen year old spoilt-brat who falls into doomsday as she loses her father. She's forced to move into her aunt and uncle's home; an environment which is dead opposite to the life she was used to. The plot moves forward with the finding of a magic book from a travelling library, the mystery involving around her aunt and uncle; a suspicious castle and so on.
Even when the storyline was really unique and noteworthy, I felt there was a lot of things amiss which puts the book into a situation where I questioned reading it in the first place. There was so many missing links and I was totally disappointed with my favourite author. In my personal opinion, I want her to come back and re-capture her spark as I wasn't very happy reading her recent book "Postscript" (the sequel to PS I Love You) as well. Hopefully, I will soon get hold of one of her books which I have difficulty putting down.
Did you people get vaccinated yet? If not, please get jabbed as soon as possible. I know it's difficult to get a slot but please keep trying and let's get back to our normal life ( it won't be normal for so many who lost their loved ones. Sigh!).
Also a special thanks to Lachu and Agri for placing orders with me!!! ( my first ever customers <3).
“Yesterday was a closed book, tomorrow, however, was another story.”
Keep going😍
