All about Second Chances!

Hey Folks,

This is an impromptu write up on a beautiful movie I watched recently. It's not specifically about what is good about this but a topic we all might at least once wish for; If I could only get one chance.

I was browsing through for a good watch amidst my pending workload. I wanted something simple that I could just go by, so I searched for a cheesy rom-com movie. In the array of posters, my eye naturally fell on the one with Rachel McAdams. I have impending love for her from the time I watched "The Notebook". She is a wonderful actress who could light up the whole screen space with just a smile. I had no given clue about any of the other given actors (my trivia around Hollywood is pretty lame).

The movie started with Tim (Domhnall Gleeson) who was a flushed out teenager looking out for his one true love. At first glance itself, I wrote it off as the usual genre. As the movie goes, Tim at 21 years, is getting to know from his father that every man in his family can do time travel. This central theme carries forward the picture. Throughout the movie, Tim uses his ability of time travel to rectify his mistakes and turn the situation in his favour. Quite fondly, he was successful in all of that.

My idea was struck with second chances. I immediately wanted to be Tim. I just wondered what if it was this easy to identify and recreate our beginnings. Every stupid decision one has made in different phases of life can be cleared, and one can start the life afresh. But going forward into the movie I understood that it might not be that easy to relive and correct those exact precise moments.

For me, this movie is a masterpiece. Trust me, I have no clue about the idea of movie-making. But this movie could have gone wrong in many ways. But the central theme of time travel was threaded along easily without the viewer's analogies being compromised. The universe is a sync of many moments, it's entirely impossible to tweak a tiny fragment of it to fish out the exact moment one loves.  And no matter how successful you are in it, some people and moments are bound to be with us.

As we have no way for second chances, let us make most of the only ones.

Tata-uh!

Regards,

A.
