A Trip to Remember!

Image
Hey Folks! Do you all have a "place," meaning a destination that you go to when you are stressed, sad, happy, or when emotions are all over the place? I don't particularly mean that you travel all the way to that place (oh, come on! We ain't that rich), but when you just close your eyes, the place and people that you found there just come to you like a teaser of a movie. I never had something like this up until now, and I never thought I would have something like that ever in my life.  As everyone knows, my friends are my world, and it just feels so right when I am with them! I've been wanting to go on a girl trip for a long time, but nothing has ever worked out in my favor. But, finally, we got our asses up and were determined as ever to go on a trip and make it memorable so that no other trip will ever beat this, and voila! We did that. Shilpa and I have been friends for the past 7 years, and she's my family and my go to Panda baby! A trip with her and my

All about Second Chances!

Hey Folks, This is an impromptu write up on a beautiful movie I watched recently. It's not specifically about what is good about this but a topic we all might at least once wish for; If I could only get one chance. I was browsing through for a good watch amidst my pending workload. I wanted something simple that I could just go by, so I searched for a cheesy rom-com movie. In the array of posters, my eye naturally fell on the one with Rachel McAdams. I have impending love for her from the time I watched "The Notebook". She is a wonderful actress who could light up the whole screen space with just a smile. I had no given clue about any of the other given actors (my trivia around Hollywood is pretty lame). The movie started with Tim (Domhnall Gleeson) who was a flushed out teenager looking out for his one true love. At first glance itself, I wrote it off as the usual genre. As the movie goes, Tim at 21 years, is getting to know from his father that every man in his family

Cherishing the Serendipity of Love

Hey Folks, In this one life, we meet innumerable people who may or may not have impacted us. We tend to carry all the good memories and leave out what has caused us misery. But there are some in which we cherish the good and the bad because of our love for that person. And those memories are indefinitely here to stay. "The Stationery Shop of Tehran”  took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. Choosing it just on the aesthetic cover, I never thought this off the hook book could turn into one of my favourites.  This is a love story but one which dissects the dynamics of love through the varied realities of life. It portrays life's complications and seldom gives out the usually unbelievable romances that everyone is a fan of. Roya, Bahman, the Stationery shop, and their lives in the backdrop of Tehran, the capital city of Iran are the crux of this book. The intensity with which Roya and Bahman loved each other will not give you the normal fascination we get from fictional characters

The Quarantine Pleasure Reads

Hey Folks, Two years of dodging Corona craze.. finally met its end in January 2022. This new year put an end to me escaping the virus. Atleast I could say, I was showered with the newest upgrade “Omicron”. Even when it wasn’t as sinful as the other variants, it still had the vigour to pin me down to the bed for days. The only insane reason I could still be happy about catching the flu was reading off my pending and much awaited set of books. I am a complete bugger head for cliché romances which implies that I vouch for pretty happy endings( no tears..!). All the books which I read in a two week span had all to do with the characters walking hand in hand to their beautiful sunset. I adore how authors could fish out such beautiful and smooth writing when it comes to this genre. Coming back to the books, as there are quiet few, let me list em out. 1) Love Hypothesis.. A Bookatok Favourite. 2) Tokyo Ever After.. This has my heart. 3) Spanish Love Deception.. an Insta recommendation. 4) Pe

An Ode to the Woods

Hey Folks, Happy Diwali, peeps! Sorry a little late on that, chaotic lifestyle is the agenda these days. Days just fly by and I have no memory of living through it. Anyway, when life becomes a non-breather, that is when we look out for escapades, right? So, being at the forefront on that note I had a quick getaway to Vagamon last month. The whole trip has been contemplating in my mind from the time I reached back from Qatar. As for everyone, Corona had different plans of screwing us again (sorry for the language, but it is what it is!!) Coming to my rendezvous journey to the hills, was extra special because it was on top priority to travel with my new ride, Meteor 350 (hubby comes after..). As my main motive was a peaceful stay, the choice of place for stay also had to be different. Hotels and resorts were too overrated for me so I kept on searching for a stand out. The search went on and on, that is when my friend randomly suggested this place. I was elated, it was exactly the kind

The Bounce Back

Hey Folks, It's been a long time. Since the last time I wrote, a lot has happened which kind of put me off track from writing these snippets and my all-time favorite activity "reading". But, as the saying goes "better late than never", right? A small sneak-peek on the wearing off, I came in a fair good contact with a chaotic but happy working system. I landed a job with an awesome human being and a great mentor. And not to mention, my wonderful teammates. I know what you guys are thinking, come on, work and happiness, who are you kidding? But, trust me it is the passion project I always wanted to do. So, in the process of getting into the grind, I had far less time to dedicate to this. Anyway, I'm planning to continue and make time for this and hope this to be there for the long haul. Coming onto the book that I read recently, it was nothing but a light-hearted one which I apparently ordered half asleep. The order got placed and I knew about it when I got

The One Where I Turned A Page

Hey Folks, It’s June 19th and its National Reading Day in India. This day is celebrated in honour of Father of India's Library Movement - P.N Panicker. Across the globe, Reading Day is a celebration, just that it differs in dates. Speaking in general, have we lost the essence of reading ? I seldom see kids reading or ranting about their favorite books. Who are to blame? Technology, Parents or Society in general. I seriously don't know.  I'll take you to the time when I started reading and started loving books in the first place. I guess I was in my class third or fourth. We had library periods in our curriculum, for me and many other friends of mine, it was the period which we used to feel relaxed and the best time for all other extra-curricular activities. The extra-curricular at that time in my terminology was simply sitting and talking of anything under the sun except studies. As I was a social bee( but teachers called me a talkative brat), I was present at every table
